So now that we have the stat page completed. We must move on to how the battle system works. During Battle, you have the Stat page that follows this format that everyone MUST follow. No special colors or gimicks to it except for the name.

Battles are based by Phases (2 to be exact) where you can charge/cast a spell, attack, defend, or use an item.

Attacking
The most basic form of attacking is through your Atk. It can be roleplayed in any form, so long as it isn't something outlandish like a big energy blast from dragon ball z or something, unless your really dealing that much damage. (Falls under context) You could be a fist fighter/mage, just about anything you can think of for a fighting style when simply attacking.

Attacking is based by percentages, the most basic being 10% of your current attack stat. So in a turn, you could attack twice with 10% of your attack, thus resulting in a 20% amount.

Example: Red Indicates quick explanation.

Phase 1: Horizontal Strike <---name of attack (10% Damage) <----percent used 60 Damage <----Damage Dealt (Xorn)<---Intended Target.
Phase 2: Veritcal Strike (10% Damage) 60 Damage (Xorn)

When you have finished attacking, you remove the amount of damage you have sent this turn from your total attack.

Example:
Kazu

HP:500/500
MP:100/100
Atk:600/480 <---- total of 120 removed from the max
Def:400/400

Because it is at 480, your next 10% attack would only deal 48 Damage as that is your current amount. Rince, repeat, and you have the basics of attacking down.

Defending

Defending works differently from Attacking. There is no percentile amount needed, but it is the ONLY way to effectively block or evade an incoming strike. Defending requires no percentage, and it only requires a single phase to block incoming damage. So in a phase you could block what number available to you in defense and then attack if you so wish.

Example:

Say Xorn attacked Kazu for a total of 280 Damage, Kazu's Phase layout could look like this.


Phase 1: Block 280 Damage
Phase 2: Veritcal Strike (10% Damage) 60 Damage (Xorn)

Thus the stat page would look like this once the turn was completed.

Abilities/Magic

Abilities and Magic go hand in hand with the MP stat. To use an ability, it requires a certain amount of MP to use. Most abilities and Magic require a charge phase, and then a casting phase. The effects of abilities are very potent than the use of regular attacks. So say Kazu uses his "Magma Blast" Ability on an opponent. His next attack would deal an extra 8% damage as shown by the description.

Magma Blast (Cost: 35 MP) Deals an extra 8% damage from a basic attack without deduction.

His Phase layout would look like this.

Phase 1: Charging Ability
Phase 2: Magma Blast (18% Damage) 108 Damage (Xorn)

But because of the effect, his stat page would only reduce 60 as a basic attack is only 10% of his attack stat. So the Stat Page would look like this.

MP:100/65 <----35 MP used for the ability.
Atk:600/540 <---- Reduction of 60 instead of 108.
Def:400/400

Extra Note:

You can charge an ability during a Phase and not use it that turn. You can save the Charge for later when you feel the perfect time to use the ability. In this state, place a Charge by your MP stat like this.

Stat Recovery

Recovering stats goes in the form of Resting. The only two stats that can be recoveried through Resting are Atk and Def. During a Phase, you can essentially "Pass" a turn and recovery 5% of your max stat. So say Kazu had attacked twice and is at 480 Attack and he had defended against Xorn for another turn, he could spend a phase to recover 5% of the max, which would be 30 Attack and another for his Defense which would be 20.

Phase 1: Resting --- 30 Atk Recovered
Phase 2: Resting --- 20 Def Recovered

The stat page would look like this.

Atk:600/510 <---- 30 Attack was recovered from Resting
Def:400/180 <---- 20 Defense was recovered from Resting

HP can only be recovered through means of abilities and Items.
MP can only be recovered by Items or high level abilities.

Extra Information

Attack Percentages start as 10% (Actions) in your inventory. (Everyone has this at start) As your character progresses, you can spend your Gold to buy the ability to use 15% and then 20% (Actions).
